Ooooooo!
H/C Ooooooo! by Dave McHutchison

Here we go again! With the recent spell of - let's face it - HOT weather, it's hard to believe we're about a month into our "winter" season and we've had our first competition of the new season already. So, congratulations to everyone who achieved a placing or a "Highly Commended", and indeed for a host of excellent and interesting images that didn't get a reward on this particular occasion. There were lots that your club " selectors" were taking note of!

Congratulations to John Perriam this month for his Overall Winner, "Evening on Gold Hill". We'll try to remember to get the tankard out of the cupboard and actually give it to you, I promise!

I hope you all agree that our judge, Fran Taylor, did a particularly fine job, even before taking into consideration that this was her very first go at judging a competition. I have received a message from Fran's saying, "It was so good of you to put your faith in a newbie. I really enjoyed the evening and would like to thank your club for making my debut a pleasant experience." I felt that Fran showed a very good level of photographic knowledge and she was able to see and understand a lot of what we as photographers had put into our photos. That will stand her in good stead and I'm sure you'll all wish her continued success in her judging role.

I still can't get that spider out of my mind....
