We're grateful to John Rose of the Exeter Camera Club for agreeing to come along and judge our photos, and for the time and effort he clearly put into it. As with Fran in September, this was John's first outing as a judge and I believe he's already got a second booking (at Sidmouth) as a result of his visit to us. Well done John, you've got off to a fine start, even timing your comments with military precision!

We had a very fine set of images again and achieving any measure of success on the night should be seen as high praise indeed. Once again John Wickett was able to woo the judge with his particular photographic treatment, though this time on a sunflower, not a scene of dereliction! This gained him the overall winner for the evening. Soon we're just going to have to engrave his name on that tankard.

Sheila again showed strength in depth with no less than five of her images across all three sections gaining awards, and deservedly so. I'm sure most of our members realise already, but it's worth pointing out the enormous amount of time time and effort Sheila puts into her photography, and not just now but over many years. If you can't beat her, just enjoy what she produces for us.

One of our most recent new members, Maurice, topped the Digitally Projected Images section, well done! His Autumnal Steam certainly captured a stunning moment. Another of our newer members, Derrick, again showed he's pushing for those top honours, coming close in a couple of sections. Well done to Terry achieving a 2nd and a 3rd with two lovely and quite subtle prints. He might have been off on trips with wife Maureen a fair bit recently but he's still found time for the photography! And Caroline, is that two entries and two awards this season? I'll need to check that out but I know it's a sensational strike rate!

Finally, well done to everyone who entered. I certainly look forward to seeing what fine photos you'll produce next time.
